Sister Cities International is the parent organization of Seattle Sister Cities and the Seattle-Bergen Sister City Association (SBSCA). Seattle Sister Cities
Seattle’s sister city program was founded in 1957 with Kobe, Japan. At that time, the partnership was one of the first of its kind in the world after President Dwight Eisenhower created the national progam in 1956. A program of the city's Office of Intergovernmental Relations, Seattle is proud to have 20 sister cities around the globe.
