Nordic Tall Ship Adventure aboard the Statsraad Lehmkuhl

In partnership with Seattle-Bergen Sister City Association (SBSCA) and the Norwegian Commercial Club of Seattle (NCC), the Seattle community seeks funding to support the passage on the Statsraad Lehmkuhl and program costs of two Seattleite young adults, Davyn Waters.and Isabel Bartholomw. Both attended the One Ocean Week and Nordic Innovation Summit events and receptions in preparation for their voyage from Seattle to San Francisco Oct. 27 to Nov. 3, 2025.
As the community business sponsor, BLU Ideas LLC is helping to raise program costs $4,000 for:
● Young adult ticket/passages
● Pre- voyage resources & conference activities
● Post-voyage travel vouchers (SFO to SEA)
A Voyage to Remember Dinner: After the voyage, the new tall ship crewmembers will speak with the community to share their experiences, on Nov/13 at the NCC monthly meeting.

Through this collaboration, we embody the core values of generosity, engagement, collaboration, and well-being that define our organizations, creating opportunities for participants to experience the rich coastal cultural heritage and practical seamanship that connected our nations two centuries ago.
Additionally, these sponsored berths directly advance the organizations’ missions to promote commerce, culture, and social connections within the Greater Puget Sound community while encouraging civic participation and fostering trade between our regions. As part of the United Nations Decade on Ocean Science and Sustainable Development, this One Ocean Expedition transforms the Statsraad Lehmkuhl into a floating classroom where participants become active crew members—hoisting sails, standing watch, and engaging with marine scientists and sustainability experts.
Tax-deductible donations are warmly welcomed and processed via SBSCA, EIN 91-1085798.
